Port Douglas residents today woke to find that the iconic coconut trees that line Four Mile Beach have been cut down by the Cairns Regional Council.
Images that tourists and locals associate with Four Mile Beach will soon be but a memory. Perhaps the councils is going to replace each and every coconut tree with bollards, similar to the ones they have put in along the Esplanade in Port Douglas.
