As follow up to the news that Port Douglas property values have be reassessed down by 20%, both the local newspaper and the Cairns Post have printed further information for rate payers today.
We appreciate the phone calls and emails we have received from all concerned rate payers, however we urge you to contact the Department of Environment and Resource Management to ensure you get a copy of your new land value and follow up with the Cairns Regional Council as to the cost of your council rates.
We would also encourage you to take action if you do not want to see your rates going up whilst your property value is going down.
