De-Amalgamation Still An Option For Port Douglas

We were informed last night that the aspiring opposition leader and former Mayor of Brisbane, Campbell Newman, was in Noosa yesterday to confirm that if elected to Government the LNP would honour it previous commitments on the issueof de-amalgamation.

There is an important opportunity LOCALLY to raise your voices once again and express your own frustrations with life under CRCbefore the next State Government election which could be as early as May 7, 2011 – despite Anna Bligh’s repeated promises to run for the full term (March 2012).

THIS MONDAY EVENING AT 5.30 AT THE MOSSMAN BOWLS CLUB LOUNGE

The Shadow Minister for Local Government, Howard Hobbs, and the Shadow Minister for Environment, Sport and Recreation,Jack Dempsey will be addressing a Community Meeting and it is your turn once again to express your feelings on the matter.

It is vital that you make a serious effort to attend. Bring the kids, bring the dog but above all bring your opinions and your hopes.

In the meantime have a look at www.freenoosa.com where you will find a detailed plan that the Noosa community has devisedas a blueprint for the return of the Noosa Shire. It shows the proposed new Council structure, the financial and communitypolicies and the processes to be followed.

FODS will be discussing this plan and the plan for Douglas with these visiting MPs and we will be soliciting your input as to what you wouldlike to see in a newly created Douglas Shire Council.

THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO ALL – SEE YOU THERE
